Fields of research
I am interested in the relations between the Greek world and other Mediterranean cultures of the near-eastern area. I study Greek pottery, also in relation to the different contexts in which it circulated and Greek and Roman sculpture, from contexts and in museum collections. I carried out excavations and research projects in Italy and Greece

2007: coordinator for the collaboration between the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” and the Municipality of Marino for the enhancement of the archaeological and artistic assets of its territory

2014 Collaboration with the Soprintendenza Archeologica di Trapani (dott.ssa R. Giglio) for the graphic documentation and the archaeological preliminary report before the excavation of the funeral context found in lc. C. Rotonda (FV-Trapani)
Since 2014 direction, with M. Bonanno and M. Pisani of the “Convenzione” and since 2016 of excavation licence between the Department of Historical Sciences, Social, Philosophical, Cultural and Territory Heritage and the Soprintendenza Archeologica di Roma for the project of excavation and enhancement of the monumental complex of the “Terme degli stucchi dipinti”, financed with the research funds of the “Uncovering Excellence” project
Since 2018 responsable of the concession for the didactic excavation of the “Villa delle Terme degli stucchi dipinti”, organized for the University of Rome Tor Vergata
2015: collaboration with the Vatican Museums for the scientific revision of the classification and exibition of the collection of Giacinto Guglielmi in the Museo Gregoriano Etrusco
Since 2015 collaboration with the Department of Biology of the University of Tor Vergata focused on the techniques and on the individuation of the organic substances used in the paintings found in the excavation of the “Villa delle Terme degli Stucchi dipinti” , using innovative technologies and whose results have been published, and on the pollinic analysis, on DNA analysis of the seeds and woods found in the excavation, on the food remains, with the aim to reconstruct the landscape and the diet, to individuate which kind of woods were used in the praefurnia of the Roman thermal baths and to contribute to implement the database on ancient seeds of the Department of Biology of Tor Vergata
Since 2016 on behalf of the Soprintendenza Archeologica dell’Umbria, then Polo Museale, coordinator with Dr. L. Costamagna, for the publication of excavation and materials from the Roman theater of Spoleto
Since 2018 responsible for the agreement between the Department of History, Cultural Heritage, Education and Society of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the Polo Museale dell’Umbria for the study of the materials from the excavations carried out by U. Ciotti in Spoleto and in the theatre of Carsuale.
Since 2017 and still ongoing: participation to the project “Open Restoration – Santa Marta al Collegio Romano” with the exhibition of the finds being restored from the excavation ot the Roman “Villa delle terme degli stucchi dipinti”, with the collaboration of the Istituto Superiore per la Conservazione e il Restauro
2017-2018: collaboration for the exhibition “Exekias hat mich getopfert und gemält”, (Zürich 7-11-2018), by the Institut für klassiche Archäologie der Universität Zürich
Since 2018: participation in the project of publishing the archaeological context of the “Area di Arsione” on Mozia, with the study of Greek pottery, in collaboration with the Soprintendenza Archeologica di Trapani, the G. Withaker Foundation, the Universities of Tübingen and Gent
Collaboration with the Salisbury Archaeology established in 2019 to carry out geomagnetic and georadar explorations in the “Villa delle terme degli stucchi dipinti”, which were also extended to the surrounding areas, and a first campaign has been carryed out in October-December 2019
Since 2020 referent, replacing Prof. Donatella Gentili, for the agreement between the Department of History, Cultural Heritage, Training and Society and the Soprintendenza dell’Etruria Meridionale for the project ” Lucus Feroniae”.
Collaboration with the PAMA, Institute for the Advancement of Transdisciplinary Archaeological Sciences, in Kerala (India), for the Roman archeological materials coming from the excavation in Pattanam
