Her fieldworks and researches concern different topics as the traditional and popular music in Italy and in Central-East Africa and the intercultural music making in educational and in religious contexts
Editorial boards
She is member of the European Seminar in Ethnomusicology, and of the International Council of Traditional Music (she was the Chair of the Italian Committee). She is a member of the Scientific Committee of Intercultural Institute of Comparative Music Studies (Cini Foundation-Venice). She is the director of Musichemigranti (Neoclassica) and member of the Scientific Committee Per Archi, Acusfere and Quaderni di Etnomusicologia (Fondazione Ugo and Olga Levi)
